Johannes is a 35 plus-year veteran of the investment services industry and a pioneer in managing mutual fund portfolios on a fee basis, using tactical asset allocation strategies.
Johannes grew up in Richfield, MN, the oldest of five children of a Norwegian immigrant father and a mother who grew up in Bertha, MN. He attended the Defense Language Institute in Washington, D.C. and worked as a military intelligence specialist for the Army Security Agency in Berlin. Johannes graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Business and Economics.
Johannes began his investment career helping people invest in real estate. In 1984, he started his own independent financial services firm and received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification in 1985. He has actively pursued his education ever since, frequently participating in professional study programs and completing numerous advanced courses in the financial advisory field.
Living and working in Europe shaped Johannes’ investment philosophy. He observed that it was futile to determine investment strategies while watching only what was occurring in the U.S. Johannes believes that investors may benefit from developing a 360° view of global investment opportunities.
Johannes and his wife live in Eden Prairie and are the proud parents of two lovely adult daughters. When he is not busy seeking ways to better serve clients, you may find him golfing, playing tennis, or spending time with friends and family. He and his wife enjoy traveling and attending performances at the Guthrie and the Ordway.
